Tape One [Part 1] in the series shows the steps in the treatment planning process. The first step is to find the tumour, this is called localization. The next step is to determine the margins and also the position of any adjacent vital structures. Third is to obtain an outline of the patient; this is a one-for-one representation on paper of the patient. Fourth is to prove the outline and fifth, is to determine the distribution of radiation inside the patient.
