Today off the coast of California and Alaska only scattered remnants of sea otters still live. Once there were vast colonies of sea otters ranging freeily from lower California up to the Aleutian Chain to Siberia. But the sea otters soft, glossy coat necessary for his survival proved to be his undoing! Jacques Cousteau's camera introduces the grooming, survival methods, courtship, and mating of the sea otter.
