Conditions in the humid tropics are ideal for plant life. Total annual rainfall here in the Malay archipelago is four times that of England and rain falls at all times of the year often as heavy thunderstorms. Plants are rarely short of water also there's no cold winter season. In fact, the diurnal range of temperature is greater than the annual range. Under these conditions, plant growth can continue all year round.
