General note Masonry, timber, and plaster- these have long been our traditional building materials they were used to build Elizabethan farm houses in Parramatta in New South Wales, typical of the better classed dwellings of those early days. For a century and a half from one style to another craftsmen have worked with these materials. Even when styles began to change radically the traditional materials remained but some new ways of using them appeared.
